SHAKHI: “Friends of Women” is a grassroots, young women-led nongovernmental, non-profit, independent organization working in the southern part of Nepal, the Terai/ Madhesh region, especially in Bara Districts. It is led and managed by a group of women committed to the development and empowerment of women, girls, and children of marginalized and vulnerable communities.
SHAKHI is currently implementing the “Empowerment for marginalized communities in the local governance system,” funded by the USAID Civil Society and Media (USAID CSM) program. The Asia Foundation is the lead implementer. SHAKHI hereby invites applications from suitable and qualified Nepalese citizens for the following positions:
Details of Announcement:
1. Program Coordinator– 1 (One) (70% Field and 30% Office)
This position leads the project activities, reporting and coordinating with external stakeholders, the board, and donors. Furthermore, supervise project/field officers, communicate with the funding agency, monitor the day-to-day work, and finalize event/project reports and plans
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in social work and equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years of work experience in projects of I/NGO.
Duty Station: Pheta Rural Municipality, Bara, and SHAKHI Office
2. Program Officer– 1 (One) (80% Field and 20% Office)
This position is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and evaluation of projects to ensure alignment with program objectives. S/he manages budgets, monitors program progress, and coordinates with stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in social work and equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years of work experience. or +2 in social work and equivalent having a minimum of 5 years of work experience in projects of I/NGOs.
Duty Station: Pheta Rural Municipality, Bara, and SHAKHI Office
3. Admin and Finance Officer– 1 (One) (60% Field and 40% Office)
This position is responsible for the project’s financial management, office administration, and logistics management.
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or financial management, having a minimum of 2 years of work experience in financial and administration management in I/NGO.
