SHAKHI: “Friends of Women” is a grassroots young women-led non-governmental, non-profit making, independent organization working in the Southern Part of Nepal called Terai/ Madhesh region especially in Bara Districts. It is led and managed by a group of women committed to the development and empowerment of women, girls and children of marginalized and vulnerable communities.

SHAKHI with the partnership of The Asia Foundation under the Civil Society and Media Project supported by the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is going to implement “Empowerment for marginalized communities in the local governance system” from September 2024. SHAKHI, hereby invites applications from suitable and qualified Nepalese citizens for the trainers for a three-day residential capacity building training in governance as part of the Empowerment of Marginalized Communities in Local Governance Program. SHAKHI, hereby invites applications from suitable and qualified candidates for the position of Trainer 2 (1 male and 1 female).

Position: Consultant /Trainer for 3 days Governance training

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least master’s degree in social work and equivalent having minimum 3 years of work experience in as facilitator.
  • Previous experience in facilitating training and workshops with community people.
  • Proven and demonstrated broad knowledge and ability in the local-level planning process.
  • Extensive knowledge of the law on governance and civil rights.
  • Strong writing on trainer training reports.
  • Must understand or clearly communicate or facilitate in the local language: Bhojpuri or Maithili is mandatory.
